Another reminder coming from Waterloo Regional Police Service (WRPS) about slowing down on those roadways across the region, all after a driver was caught nearly doubling the speed limit in Cambridge.
It stems from a post on social media, where regional police posted a photo of a radar gun, showing a clocked speed of 115 km/h.
According to police, the vehicle was travelling at that speed through a 60km/h zone on Branchton Road near Lilywood Drive.
Officers said the 52-year-old driver who was behind the wheel has since been charged with stunt driving and speeding.
The driver’s license has also been suspended for 30 days, with the vehicle impounded for 14 days.
Regional police said, “Your choices behind the wheel matter, and they can save lives.”
