More information has come to light around a stabbing in Cambridge early in the week, with Waterloo Regional Police Service (WRPS) now saying two people have been arrested in connection with the incident.
It all stems from that incident late Monday morning, when officers were called and sent to the area of Scrimger Avenue in the southeast end of Cambridge after hearing about a potential stabbing.
They arrived on scene to find a 31-year-old man suffering from multiple stab wounds.
Local paramedics were able to treat the victim on site before he was sent to hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.
Police proceeded with their early investigation, and days later, officers say they’ve arrested a 33-year-old woman and a 38-year-old man, both from Cambridge.
WRPS said they’ve both been charged with:
- Assault with a Weapon
- Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose
- Aggravated Assault
The investigation into the stabbing is still ongoing, but officers have said that they believe it was a targeted incident.
WRPS is asking anyone with further details on the incident to reach out to their General Investigations Unit at 519-570-9777, extension 4496.
