
Afternoon Drive with Coral Andrews
Coral Andrews is a Kitchener, Ontario-based writer whose byline has appeared in countless publications for almost five decades, including national magazines—Saturday Night, Take One, Graffiti, The Music Scene, and Harrowsmith. Regional publications include Waterloo Regional Record, The Music Express, and Grand Magazine. Favorite interviews include Phyllis Diller, Cynthia Lennon, Bernard Fowler of The Rolling Stones, Justin Hayward (The Moody Blues), and Graham Chapman from Monty Python.

Coral recently published a non-fiction memoir, “The Back Door”—a chronicle of the musicians, artists, and personalities that were part of Kitchener’s underground subculture from the 1970s to the 1990s at the legendary Back Door bar that existed beneath the Metro Restaurant. It is now in its fifth printing.
She has been involved in radio since the late 70s but began working as a radio professional at FM 985 CKWR in 2016. She is currently the host/producer of two programs on FM985—”The Afternoon Drive,” Monday to Friday from 3 pm to 7 pm, and “Coral Rockks” on Wednesday evenings from 7 pm to 8 pm. Coral was recently inducted into the Waterloo Region Hall of Fame’s Class of 2026 as a Community Builder.
