A driver in Cambridge has been left with a suspended license and their vehicle impounded, all after they were caught going close to double the speed limit on Hespeler Road in Cambridge.
Waterloo Regional Police Service (WRPS) have taken to social media, detailing an incident where an officer pulled over a driver in a Kia Soul, who was caught going 112 km/h in a 60 km/h zone.
On top of the dangerous speeds, police said that “The vehicle was uninsured, had an expired permit, and the driver registered an Alert on a roadside screening device.”
As a result, it’s led to a series of charges, mainly centred around stunt driving.
While few details have been given as to the driver in question, police have said that they’re now facing a 30-day license suspension, a seven-day roadside suspension, and have had their vehicle impounded for 14 days.
“Slow down. Drive sober. Make sure your vehicle is properly insured,” said WRPS.
“Dangerous driving puts everyone at risk.”
