A pedestrian has died following a late-night crash on Highway 6 North near Guelph, which involved multiple vehicles and led to a lengthy closure on the busy roadway.
The details coming from West Region Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), which took to social media just after midnight heading into Monday, July 20, said that it received reports of the collision on Highway 6 North, right between Stone Road West and Kortright Road West.
OPP said multiple vehicles were involved in the collision, along with a pedestrian, who suffered from serious, life-threatening injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to police, no other injuries were reported.
The severity of the incident led police to close off the area for multiple hours, not reopening until the morning commute at around 7:30 a.m.
As of now, no other details have been released as to the incident, what caused it, or if any charges are expected.
