Kitchener residents are being asked to check their home security cameras after a reported break-and-enter incident in that city.
It was on Friday evening when police say an unknown suspect or possible suspects broke into a home in the Broadacre Drive area of Kitchener. It’s alleged that a window to the home was pried open.
Suspects stole items from the home before fleeing the area.
As the investigation continues, police have asked those living in the area to check their security footage from that night between the hours of 6:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.

Police have also offered a few safety tips to prevent break-ins, including:
- Keep doors and windows locked, even when at home
- Keep valuables out of common areas and out of plain sight
- Install audible alarm systems
- Secure residences with home video surveillance cameras at the front and rear of the property
- Notify neighbours when away for an extended period and arrange someone to check on the home
- Report suspicious persons or vehicles to police
