An early morning transport truck fire brought serious delays to the Friday morning drive into Mississauga on Highway 401.
It was around 2 a.m. on Friday morning when Ontario Provincial Police shared news of that fire on the Collector lanes of the eastbound 401 just east of Winston Churchill Boulevard, closing those lanes of traffic.
An update provided just before 4 a.m. indicated that Collector lanes would remain closed for “several more hours” to allow for clean-up to be completed.

It was hours later around 11:30 on Friday morning when provincial police confirmed Collector lanes of traffic had been reopened.
Police note that no physical injuries have been reported as a result of the fire.
