Three arrests have been made by Waterloo Regional Police Service (WRPS) after they were found trespassing at a construction site in Kitchener and climbing the tower crane of a 32-storey building.
Officers said calls came in Sunday afternoon at around 3:10 p.m. when they were told of three men who had climbed onto the top beam of a tower crane at a construction site on King Street East.
Regional police said those officers were able to attend the site within minutes of those calls and saw the three individuals on the crane.
They then witnessed them enter the 32-storey building through an opening on the upper floor.
Officers then entered the still-under-construction building, conducting a search of the high-rise and found the three at around 4:40 p.m., hiding inside a portable toilet on the 22nd floor.
The three men include a 20-year-old from St. Catharines, a 20-year-old from Waterdown, and a 16-year-old from Hamilton.
They’ve all been charged with trespassing in connection with the incident under the Trespass to Property Act.
