Waterloo Regional Police have arrested three males following an attempt break and enter in Kitchener.
On July 14, 2026, at approximately 12:30 a.m., police responded to a report of a male believed to be in possession of a firearm in the area of Victoria Street North.
Officers attended the area and determined that three suspects had attended a unit at the motel and attempted to gain entry. The suspects were unsuccessful and subsequently left the area in a rideshare vehicle. Officers located the vehicle nearby, conducted a traffic stop, and arrested the three suspects.
During the arrest, officers located and seized three imitation firearms.
As a result of the investigation a 22-year-old Toronto male was arrested and charged with:
- Attempt break and enter
- Disguise with intent
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
- Obstruct peace officer
- Fail to comply with release order (two counts)
A 31-year-old Kitchener male was arrested and charged with:
- Attempt break and enter
- Disguise with intent
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
- Fail to comply with release order (two counts)
- Fail to comply with probation order (two counts)
A 40-year-old Kitchener male was arrested and charged with:
- Attempt break and enter
- Disguise with intent
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
- Obstruct peace officer
The accused were held for a bail hearing.
