Regional police continue to investigate after reports of ‘multiple assaults’ in Cambridge, now believing the suspect may have been hate-motivated.
It was on Sunday afternoon around 4:10 p.m. when police responded to those reports, though it’s not clear where the victims were attacked.
Police said their investigation showed an unknown man had confronted two people and assaulted them, resulting in minor injuries for both victims. In both cases, further medical treatment was not required.
Officers were able to locate and arrest the suspect, a 36-year-old Kitchener man. He now faces multiple charges including Assault and Assault with a Weapon.
