An investigation is now ongoing through Waterloo Regional Police Service (WRPS) after a vehicle was shot at by a “large-calibre rifle round” in Waterloo.
The local service said it happened back on Aug. 8, at around 2 p.m., when police were called about a vehicle that had been struck near The Boardwalk.
WRPS said that “a vehicle had been struck by a large-calibre rifle round” in the nearby area.
“The projectile is believed to have been fired from a significant distance away, originating from a rural area,” said WRPS in a release.
Luckily, no physical injuries were reported from the incident, and police added that no other reports of gunfire had been made in the area.
Further than that, no other details have been provided as to the extent of the damage to the vehicle or regarding any potential suspects.
The investigation remains ongoing, with WRPS asking that anyone with information tied to the case reach out at 519-570-9777.
