Masked suspects confronted by homeowner in Waterloo break-in: WRPS

An investigation is underway through Waterloo Regional Police Service (WRPS), all tied to a break-and-enter at a home in Waterloo.

Regional police’s Break and Enter, Auto Theft, and Robbery (BEAR) Unit said it all happened Wednesday, Sept. 23, at around 11:35 p.m., when a group of masked suspects forced their way into a home in the area of Sunnydale Place and Cedarbrae Avenue.

Investigators said that when the group entered the building, they found that the owner of the residence was still inside.

“The suspects were confronted by the homeowner and fled the area prior to police arrival,” said WRPS in a release.

“No physical injuries were reported as a result of this incident.”

At this time, no further details have been released regarding the number of suspects or their descriptions, with the investigation still ongoing.
