It’s officially the first full week of Spring in Waterloo Region, and it looks like residents can expect a bit of everything, with some flurries, showers, sunshine, and mixed temperatures to kick things off.
It all comes from Environment Canada, which shows below-seasonal temperatures pushing into the end of March and beginning of April, but notes that it won’t be very consistent throughout the upcoming stretch.
It kicks off with cloudy skies and possible flurries for Monday, with a risk of freezing drizzle in the morning, before shifting to partly cloudy and sunny conditions for Tuesday.
That back-and-forth continues through the rest of the week as well, with cloudy skies and both possible showers and flurries for Wednesday, showers for Thursday, before a mix of sun and cloud for Friday.

The temperatures will also fluctuate during the week as well, with a high of just 1 C for Monday, 4 C for Tuesday, 3 C for Wednesday, jumping to 6 C on Thursday, before dropping down to -1 C Friday.
The good news is, once Friday hits, a stretch of sunny skies is set to hit the region once again, alongside a slight bump up in temperatures as well.
Turning to the extended forecast, the region can expect a mix of sun and cloud throughout the weekend for Saturday and Sunday, lasting into Monday and Tuesday as well, with temperatures peaking at around 7 C for Monday.
It may be Spring, but it looks like it’ll still be a few weeks before the region really settles back into some regular, seasonal weather.
On the bright side, it appears Winter may be going out with a whimper, a fresh change from the stark conditions seen across the first quarter of 2026 so far.
