Waterloo Regional Police have laid charges in an ongoing fatal collision investigation.
On June 15, 2026, at approximately 10:10 a.m., emergency services responded to reports of a serious collision between a vehicle and a lawn tractor on Clyde Road in North Dumfries Township.
The driver of the lawn tractor, a 51-year-old North Dumfries Township male, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the vehicle, a 16-year-old Cambridge female, reported no physical injuries.
As a result of the investigation, on July 1, 2026, the vehicle driver was arrested and charged with:
- Dangerous operation causing death
- Speeding- 191 km/h in a 50 km/h zone
- Stunt driving (two counts)
The accused was held for a bail hearing.
Three passengers in the vehicle, Cambridge youths aged 15, 16, 17, were also arrested and charged with two counts of Fail to Comply with Release Order.
