Press Release: Waterloo Regional Police Service, April 15, 2026
Waterloo Regional Police Service is advising parents and students about a seasonal activity commonly known as “Senior Assassin,” being played by some students in Waterloo Region.
The game is organized independently by graduating high school students during the spring months and may involve participants using water guns or similar devices to “eliminate” participants in a variety of settings.
It sometimes involves behaviours which increase fear amongst members of the public and may result in calls to police when participant actions appear suspicious or concerning.
Waterloo Regional Police Service is committed to public safety and strongly discourages participation.
We encourage students and families to consider the potential risks and unintended consequences of this activity, and to choose safer ways to celebrate the end of the school year.
Community members who observe behaviour that appears unsafe or involves a possible weapon are encouraged to call 9-1-1.
