After two sudden deaths were reported in Kitchener within 7 hours of each other, Waterloo Regional Police Service (WRPS) has said neither incident has led to any investigations as they are “not considered suspicious.”
The first incident was reported at around 8 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 20, when officers said they were told of a death at Victoria Park.
In a statement to FM 985 CKWR, Constable Melissa Quarrie with WRPS said that “a deceased individual was located,” but added that “the death is not considered suspicious at this time.”
She said that it means there is no active police investigation into the matter, simply saying that their “General Investigations Unit is assisting the Office of the Chief Coroner.”
Then, just a few hours later at around 3 p.m., reports came in of another sudden death, with a deceased person being found in the area of Highway 8 and Fairway Road South, right near Fairview Park Mall.
Similarly to the first, WRPS has said that the incident is not considered suspicious, so there is no active police investigation.
