Investigations are underway, and the search for a victim is ongoing, all tied to an incident where a man was reportedly dragged by a vehicle and robbed in Waterloo.
The details come from Waterloo Regional Police Service (WRPS), which said it all happened Saturday, Oct. 17, when officers were called about a man seen hiding among the trees in the area of Meaford Drive and Chelford Crescent.
“Officers spoke with the witness, who reported observing a shirtless male crawling across a front lawn,” said WRPS in a release.
“The witness stated that the male claimed he had been just robbed and was searching for his missing property. The male then fled the area.”
That led WRPS to launch an investigation into the matter, later determining that the victim had been “dragged by a white four-door hatchback on Meaford Drive.”
“During the incident, an unknown suspect exited the vehicle and stole the victim’s backpack and sweater while an altercation was taking place,” WRPS stated.
At this time, little is known about any potential suspects tied to the matter, with police still searching for the victim in the case.
They’re described as being a white man, approximately 35 to 40 years of age, with a heavy build. At the time of the incident, he was reported wearing a brown hoodie, blue jeans, and white and dark blue shoes.
The investigation is now ongoing by members of WRPS’ General Investigations Unit.
