A Kitchener man is now facing charges in connection to at least two different theft incidents in the City of Waterloo – and investigators believe there may be more victims.
It was on Monday night just after 10 when police responded to reports of theft from a change room locker at a fitness facility in Waterloo, in the area of Weber Street North.
Officers located a male suspect and arrested him at the scene, also recovering stolen property belonging to the alleged victim of the theft.
An investigation revealed that the male suspect was also connected to an earlier theft investigation at a Waterloo recreation facility – that incident saw property taken from a locker, as well as a vehicle that was entered using keys from the pilfered locker.
A 22-year-old Kitchener man is now facing theft-related charges including:
- Theft under $5,000 (two counts)
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000
Police believe there may be additional victims, and have encouraged anyone that has experienced theft from a locker at a gym or recreation facility in Waterloo Region to contact them at 519-570-9777, extension 6399.
