Afternoon commuters are running into serious issues on the drive through Cambridge – as the MTO reports a closure in place for eastbound lanes of 401 traffic.
It was just after 2 p.m. when the Ministry of Transportation shared word of that crash on the eastbound lanes of the 401, closing the roadway east of Highway 8.
An update provided by OPP just after 3 p.m. said that crash involved three vehicles including a rolled over dump truck on the eastbound lanes of traffic on Highway 401 just past Highway 8.
Westbound lanes of traffic are unaffected by this collision.
Two people have been taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, one of which is said to be more severe than the other.
Drivers are asked to avoid the area, with more updates to follow when available.
OPP note they expect the closure on the eastbound 401 to be lifted by 7 p.m.
