A Kitchener man is now facing weapon and drug related charges after being arrested by officers on bicycle patrol in that city.
It was just before 10 a.m. on Tuesday when police on patrol in the area of Weber Street West and Water Street North spotted a man allegedly in possession of suspected fentanyl.
Officers with the Central Division Crime Suppression and Response Unit (CSAR) made their arrest, charging the man with possession of a controlled substance.
A subsequent investigation lead officers to a larger haul, though, as they located and seized suspected fentanyl, methamphetamine, crack cocaine and multiple pills. Also alleged to be in that male suspect’s possession were a pair of brass knuckles and roughly $2,000 of Canadian currency.
A 38-year-old Kitchener man now faces several charges including:
- Possession for the purpose of trafficking (four counts)
- Unauthorized possession of a weapon (two counts)
- Disobeying court order (two counts)
