An arrest has been made and charges laid in connection with a series of assaults at a local park in Kitchener.
According to Waterloo Regional Police Service (WRPS), the incidents were reported on Aug. 14 at around 7 p.m., when officers received multiple reports of an unknown man assaulting people in the area of Fallowfield Park.
“Through the investigation, officers learned that several victims were randomly assaulted while walking on trails within the park,” said WRPS in a release.
“The victims sustained minor physical injuries.”
At that point, officers said they were able to locate the suspect, who was arrested on site without incident.
As a result, a 39-year-old Kitchener man has been charged with two counts of assault alongside two counts of criminal harassment.
The investigation remains ongoing, with WRPs asking that any additional victims or anyone with further details on the incidents give them a call at 519-570-9777, extension 4499.
