A weekend fire at a home in Kitchener has left its residents displaced, with damages estimated at as much as $750,000.
The details come from the Kitchener Fire Department, which said it was called Sunday morning, at around 8 a.m., told of a fire that had broken out at a home on Village Road, just off Westmount Road East and Greenbrook Drive.
“Upon arrival, crews encountered a fire that had extended into the attic space of the home and worked quickly to bring the incident under control,” said the local fire department.

They stated that no injuries were reported to civilians or firefighters, but noted that the blaze led to “significant structural damage to the residence.”
The fire department said it’s resulted in the displacement of the occupants and damage estimated between $500,000 and $750,000.
While the origins of the fire have not been deemed as being suspicious, investigations have since been handed over to Waterloo Regional Police Service (WRPS).
