CAMBRIDGE – More than 50 business leaders and industry professionals gathered in Cambridge Thursday for a forum aimed at helping local manufacturers and industrial businesses access funding and support to grow.
The Manufacturing and Industrial Business Funding Forum was hosted by the City of Cambridge’s Economic Development Division at The Venue.
The event brought together representatives from federal, provincial and industry organizations to share information about funding opportunities available to help businesses invest in new technology, develop their workforce, expand into new markets and improve competitiveness.
Attendees also had the chance to meet directly with funding partners, ask questions and discuss their individual business needs and growth plans.
Manager of Economic Development Karisa Downey says the goal was to help local businesses make connections and find the resources they need to take the next step.
“Cambridge has a long history of manufacturing excellence, and the businesses in this room continue to drive innovation, investment and job creation across our community,” said Downey.
“This forum was about making connections and opening doors, ensuring local businesses know where to turn when they’re ready to take the next step.”
The City says the forum is part of its ongoing efforts to support local businesses and strengthen Cambridge’s economy by making it easier for companies to connect with organizations that can help them grow.
