Any residents who have had their vehicle running on fumes or have been waiting to see a dip at the pumps before filling up may be in luck, as gas prices have taken a double-digit drop across Waterloo Region.
According to Canadians for Affordable Energy, gas prices have dropped by as much as 11 cents overnight heading into Wednesday, to an average high of $1.67.9 per litre.
It’s the continuation of what’s been a turbulent stretch at the pumps and on wallets all throughout the region, with the latest dip marking the lowest those prices have been since Aug. 15.

For those relying more on diesel to get them around, those motorists can also breathe a sigh of relief, as they are also set to share in the double-digit decline.
Canadians for Affordable Energy said the average price for diesel across Waterloo Region now sits at an average high of $2.35.9 per litre, a 12-cent drop from what was previously reported.

The latest dip also marks a 24-cent drop since the beginning of October, when prices reached a high of $1.91.9 per litre back on Oct. 3.
It’s some good news for drivers across the region pushing into the beginning of November, but with back-and-forth trends seen all across 2026, residents shouldn’t expect those prices to stick around for very long.
