Businesses, community groups and residents across Waterloo Region are being invited to take part in one of the region’s biggest annual traditions.
In a news release, Kitchener-Waterloo Oktoberfest says applications are now open for parade float entries in the 2026 Kitchener-Waterloo Oktoberfest Thanksgiving Day Parade, taking place on Monday, October 12.
Organizers are looking for creative self-propelled floats and large inflatables to be part of the parade. Flat deck trucks and lowboy trailers are discouraged, although pickup trucks and automobiles may be used as part of a float if they are not recognizable in their original form.
Anyone interested in entering a float has until August 28th to request an application package from Kitchener-Waterloo Oktoberfest to Carol Tucker, Volunteer and Administration Manager at carolt@oktoberfest.ca.Corporate and non-profit entry fees apply.
The festival is also recruiting volunteers to help with parade planning, serve as marshals on parade day, or carry signage along the route. Sponsorship opportunities for floats and marching bands are also available for businesses looking to support the event.
