A disturbance call has led to mischief, assault, and impaired driving charges for a man in North Dumfries.
The details are coming from Waterloo Regional Police Service (WRPS), with the incident itself happening Sunday, Aug. 9, at around 8:55 p.m., when officers were called about a possible disturbance at a private property on East River Road.
WRPS said it was told of an unwanted male operating a vehicle on the property and, when officers arrived on the scene, they found that the suspect in question had “driven in a dangerous manner on the property, damaged property, and assaulted a resident.”
The suspect was arrested at the scene and, as a result, the 34-year-old Rockwood man has been charged with a series of offences, including:
- Dangerous Operation
- Impaired Operation
- Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration
- Assault
- Assault with a Weapon
- Mischief Under $5,000
The accused is currently scheduled to appear in court in Kitchener on Sept. 22.
