An investigation is now underway through Waterloo Regional Police Service (WRPS), with officers now looking to identify and locate a suspect they believe is tied to two restaurant robberies in Kitchener.
According to the police, the two incidents occurred Aug. 10 and Aug. 12, the first of which happened at around 10:40 p.m. at a restaurant in a plaza near Fairway Road South and Wilson Avenue.
Officers said a male suspect entered the restaurant, spoke with employees working inside, and demanded cash from the registers before fleeing with an undisclosed amount of money.
The second incident, which happened a couple of days later at around 9:50 p.m. at a restaurant in the area of Fairway Road North and Lackner Boulevard, occurred in the same manner as the first.
Luckily, there were no reported injuries as a result of either incident.

In each incident, the suspect was described as wearing black pants, a black face covering, and goggles. The first incident on Aug. 10 also saw the man wearing a grey hoodie, while he is said to have worn a black hoodie during the second incident on Aug. 12.
The investigation remains ongoing by WRPS’ Break and Enter, Auto Theft, and Robbery (BEAR) Unit.
