Youth injured, police searching for suspects after robbery at Waterloo restaurant

A robbery at a local fast-food restaurant in Waterloo is under investigation by Waterloo Regional Police Service (WRPS), one that sent a youth to hospital.

Police said it all happened Sunday, Aug. 23, at around 6:50 p.m., when officers were told of a robbery at that fast-food restaurant in the area of Columbia Street West near Phillip Street.

Through their initial investigation, police found that a youth had been robbed at the restaurant, having their belongings taken by three unknown suspects.

While the exact details of what happened aren’t known, WRPS said that the victim had to be transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

According to police, “the involved parties were known to each other.”

The investigation still remains ongoing, with no information given as to the three suspects in question.
