Arrest made following Cambridge convenience store robbery

Waterloo Regional Police Service (WRPS) has laid charges tied to a robbery at a convenience store in Cambridge.

Officers said it happened Monday, Sept. 7, at around 4:30 p.m., when reports came in of the robbery at a business at the corner of Pinebush Road and Franklin Boulevard.

When they arrived at the scene, police found that a man had entered the convenience store, demanded money from an employee on site, before fleeing with an undisclosed amount of cash.

From there, the investigation was handed to WRPS’ Break, Enter, Auto Theft, and Robbery (BEAR) Unit, which then was able to identify, locate, and arrest that suspect in question a few days later, on Thursday, Sept. 10.

As a result, a 40-year-old Cambridge man has been charged with Robbery with a Weapon, Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose, and Disguise with Intent.

He was held in custody for a bail hearing.
