Five people are now facing charges in connection with a two-day targeted enforcement project conducted by police in Cambridge.
During the week of Oct. 25, regional police say their members were conducting a public safety initiative in the Galt and Preston downtown areas as part of an effort to address community concerns regarding illegal drug activity.
It’s reported that the initiative lead to the arrest of five individuals, as well as the seizure of unspecified quantities of methamphetamine and fentanyl. Also seized was a prohibited knife and drug paraphernalia.
Of those arrested during the enforcement project, police said that one person was charged with possession of a prohibited weapon and possession of a controlled substance. Officers are also said to have provided individuals with information about available addiction and social service resources.
