WRPS looking for suspect tied to string of optical store thefts

A series of thefts targeting optical businesses throughout Waterloo Region is now being investigated by Waterloo Regional Police Service (WRPS).

According to the local service, its Crime Suppression and Analysis Response (CSAR) unit is heading up the investigation.

They say that they believe one suspect attended multiple optical retailers, swapped older sunglasses with new merchandise on the shelves, before leaving the scene.

Using surveillance footage within one of the impacted stores, regional police have now released a photo of the suspect in question, seeking help from the general public in identifying and locating the individual.
