A serious crash on the westbound 401 through Cambridge brought serious issues for the Tuesday drive home for commuters.
It was just after 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday when the Ministry of Transportation shared word of a two-vehicle crash, leading to lane reductions and an eventual closure of westbound lanes of the 401 between Hespeler Road and Speedsville Road.
According to OPP, that crash involved an SUV and a motorcycle driver. Provincial police have since confirmed that the driver of the motorcycle was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
While OPP had warned of a “prolonged closure” of westbound traffic for their investigation, an update provided just after 7 p.m. indicated all impacted lanes had been reopened.
