It’s been an exciting time for a resident in Cambridge, who has won a $50,000 prize from a $10 scratch ticket purchased at a local grocery store in the city.
The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) made the announcement, saying Annie P. got her winnings off a BINGO scratch ticket she purchased at a Sobey’s location on Cedar Street.
“It was just an ordinary morning when I popped over to Sobeys and checked my ticket,” Annie said.
“I never expected to find out I’d won big.”
Annie is a local retiree in the region who said that she often enjoys scratching tickets alongside her morning coffee.
She said, “I did my happy dance all around the store,” after hearing that she had one, noting that the first person she called upon hearing the news was her grandson.
Now, with the winnings in hand, Annie said that she’s planning to focus on some family time, also planning some potential trips to Jamaica and Newfoundland.
