A road resurfacing project getting underway in Wilmot this week is already drawing some complaints from residents.
The Region of Waterloo has shared that work will be rolling out as early as Monday on Nafziger Road, between Snyder’s Road and Erb’s Road, stretching into late October.
As crews get to work in the area, drivers are warned that traffic will be reduced to just one lane with a flagging operation in place to help traffic through the area.
In addition, residents are warned that a short-term closure will need to be put in place at some point during the work, with details of the closure to be shared at a later date.
A notice for the resurfacing work on Nafziger has already received some criticism on social media, with some residents noting that project’s proximity to an existing closure on Erb’s Road, just east of Nafziger Road, for bridge reconstruction. That work is expected to wrap in mid-November.
The posted detour for that Erb’s Road project sends traffic along Nafziger Road, through this new resurfacing area.
