A Waterloo man is facing speed and impaired driving related charges after a crash in Waterloo’s north end.
It was on Wednesday night around 9:45 p.m. when regional police responded to the area of Erbsville Road and Bisch Street for that crash.
An investigation showed that the driver of the involved vehicle failed to stop at a stop sign, crossed two lanes of traffic and left the roadway before striking a hydro pole. Police note that speed is believed to have been a factor in the crash.
The driver of the vehicle, a 45-year-old Waterloo man, was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
He’s since been arrested and charged with a number of offenses including:
- Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
- Dangerous operation
- Stunt driving
Police note a lengthy closure put in place along Erbsville Road to allow for repairs has since been lifted.
