Four motorists across Kitchener and Cambridge have had their licenses suspended and vehicles impounded, all after Waterloo Regional Police Service (WRPS) laid a series of stunt driving charges on Saturday.
It all happened on Oct. 3, when WRPS’ Road Safety Enforcement Team was conducting speed enforcement efforts across the Tri-Cities to kick off the weekend.
By the end of the day, officers said they charged four drivers, who were all going at least 45 km/h over the speed limit on various city streets.

“In Cambridge, officers stopped a driver travelling 107 km/h in a 60 km/h zone,” said WRPS in a post on social media.
“In Kitchener, three drivers were stopped travelling 116 km/h, 105 km/h, and 99 km/h in a 50 km/h zone.”
Across the incidents, regional police said all four drivers were charged with speeding and stunt driving and received an immediate 30-day license suspension and a 14-day vehicle impoundment.
“Speeding at these levels put everyone at risk, and drivers who endanger others on our roads can expect enforcement.”
