Investigations are underway through Waterloo Regional Police Service (WRPS) after a two-vehicle head-on collision left a woman in serious condition and others injured in Cambridge.
The incident itself happened Monday, Sept. 28, at around 6:40 p.m., when officers were called about the crash involving a Honda CR-V and a GMC Acadia on a stretch of Blair Road.
Emergency services arrived on scene to find that the two vehicles had collided head-on while driving on the local roadway.
The crash left the occupants of the GMC with minor injuries, while the driver of the Honda, a 72-year-old Cambridge woman, had to be sent to an out-of-region hospital for treatment of serious injuries.

Blair Road was closed in that stretch for several hours as the initial investigation and cleanup efforts got underway, but reopened later that same night.
WRPS has not released details of any potential charges expected to be laid, with investigators continuing to learn more about the circumstances that led to the head-on crash.
